Alternative

Alternative (formerly The Alternative Corporation, formerly The Alternative Clothing Company, formerly Alternative.com) is the largest Corporation in the world and one of the Big Five. Like all modern Corporations, Alternative has no specific business interests and integrates a complete vertically integrated and horizontally integrated economy.
Alternative grew from a online fashion store that weathered the dot com bubble of the 1990s and gradually grew into a megacorporation. During the Corporate Wars it became a Corporation through purchase of several South American countries and was heavily involved in the American Incident, purchasing half of the US federal government.
Alternative's success is generally credited to its superb use over the decades of Public Relations, most notably its pioneering understanding of the exploitation of microcultures to achieve Total Horizontal Integration.
History
During the dot com bubble of the 1990s dozens of novel internet-based startups appeared and collapsed in a whirl of venture capital. Amongst those success stories who weathered the period were eBay, an auction site which saw massive popularity during the 2000s and 10s, Amazon.com, an online bookstore which eventually expanded into a universal estore, and Alternative.com, an emo-goth online clothing store.
